Presidential candidate Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said on Sunday, March 27, that it was up to Filipinos to decide whether to believe the Supreme Court decision over the Marcos family’s P203.8-billion estate tax debt.
“Kayo? Sinong magsasabi? Kayo na po ang bahala kung sino ang sinungaling, sino ang nanloloko, sino ang nagtatanso, hindi ko po yan mahuhusgahan, ibinabato ko po yan na katanungan sa ating mga kababayan (Who will tell us? It’s up to you to decide who is lying and not genuine. I will not decide on that, I am throwing the question to the Filipino people),” Domagoso said in a chance interview with reporters after the inauguration of Tondominium II in Vitas, Tondo, Manila.
The Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer added that either former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos was lying or the Supreme Court.
“Kayo na ang bahala ha, kayo na ang bahalang humusga nagsisinungaling si Ferdinand Marcos Jr. o nagsisinungaling yung labing limang justices sa supreme court (It’s up to you, it’s up to you to judge whether Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is lying or the 15 Justices of the Supreme Court),” he added.
Domagoso reiterated that the Supreme Court’s decision was “final and executory.”
“Uulitin ko, may desisyon ang Korte Suprema, sabi final and executory ibig sabihin wala na pong paliwanagan (I will repeat, the Supreme Court has decided that it is final and executory),” he said.
Domagoso, meanwhile, vowed equality among the Filipino people if elected as the next president in the coming May 2022 elections.
“Gusto niyo ng pagkakapantay pantay, mindanao, visayas, luzon walang majirap malang mayaman, walang middle class, walang malakas, walang mahina bigyan niyo lang po ako ng pagkakataon (You want equality, mindanao, visayas, luzon, no poor, no rich, no middle class, no strong, no weak, I will make it possible if you will give me the chance),” said Domagoso.
The Aksyon Demokratiko campaign strategist Lito Banayo recently appealed to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez to order the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to immediately collect the P203-B Marcos debt and use it as cash assistance for those who lose their jobs and to the transport sectors that are suffering because of the soaring fuel prices.
